Finales...Khalas (finished - done - over) Arabic.
First I would like to say apparently I was completely wrong about the Sopranos
finale. Of course I haven't seen it yet, however I have watched the last few seconds on the internet. It seems there's
a "debate" about whether or not Tony is actually dead. Either way, it's over, done, finished, khalas.
In life we all hear, "all good things must come to an end." Fortunately all bad things do too.
Though
life is a series of happenings day in and day out, at the same time it's a series of finales. Which in turn means it's
a series of beginnings as well.
For instance, yesterday I watched a man run over a dog without hesitation. Of
course this was devastating to me and I was tempted to chase him down and ask him exactly WHY he couldn't have at least
slowed down?! Either way, it was that dog's finale.
Also, yesterday, a friend called me to tell me he had witnessed
a car accident (shocker, this happens daily here in Kuwait), but when he got out to check on the involved persons, he found
one to be dead. This was obviolusly the finale in this man's life.
Some finales aren't quite so tragic.
While driving from Starbucks yesterday I was listening to music, drinking my coffee, watching the nothingness do nothing around
me when all of a sudden a Chevy Caprice coming in the opposite direction lost control of his vehicle and literally flew over
an embankment. I was horrified, stopped my Prado as close to their car as I could without getting stuck in the sand, and ensured
they were OK. They were both climbing out of the very damaged vehicle as if nothing had happened. Fortunately this was not
their finale, though more than likely the finale for their car.
Every day we encounter a finale of some sort in
our lives. Something as small as our favorite pen running out of ink, to the death of someone close to us. But on the upside
we also get to encounter new beginnings every day as well. Maybe we meet a new friend, or discover a great new hair color,
or maybe we accidentally run into the person who will make the biggest impact in our lives and we don't even know it.
Every moment should be cherished, treasured, and learned from regardless of how big or small they might seem.
Focus should be placed on seeing the good in what appears to be bad instead of making what seems to be positive into something
terribly negative.
With all of the beginnings and endings....I am finally learning to enjoy every moment prior
to my own finale.

Sopranos Finale?Okie dokie, first let me start by saying that being here in Kuwait I do NOT get to watch The Sopranos. Which is very upsetting
to me. I have to keep up with them by reading blogs, articles on the news, and internet welcome pages. Oh, and by calling
home first thing every Monday morning to get the updates. My family has offered to TiVO it for me and send it, but by the
time each episode would get to me I would already know what's going to happen. It's not the same.
However,
just because I don't get the pleasure of watching this season, I haven't stopped being an addict. And like all other
Soprano addicts, I too have a theory about how it will end.
Finale...
For 6.5 seasons Tony has not
only been the "boss" of the mob family, but has watched his own family deteriorate as he works so hard at keeping
his mob family together.
He has seen his wife suffer at the hands of his lifestyle, his children experience hurt
because of his career choice, and most importantly, lives with the fact that everything he has ever provided to his family
comes from a criminal source. He's seen his daughter make terrible choices in men, his son attempt suicide, and his wife
(who he really does love) long for something of emotional value in her life. He has watched his own children struggle to fit
in and live a "normal" life while teetering between mob kids and college students.
Why would the "boss"
of a mob family want something completely different for his own children? Because he hates everything about everything he
has ever done.
In the end, Tony will pay a visit to the Special Agent who has followed him around for 6 seasons.
He's the man we recognize as soon as we see him, but seems to have played a very small role. However, it was much larger
than any of us thought. As this will be the man to determine the fate of Tony when it's all said and done. Tony will offer
up every bit of information he has about the mob in exchange for safety and security for his wife and children.
Tony
will finally choose his real family over his mob family. We will be left to assume where Tony ends up, but we'll have
semi answers about Carmella and the kids.
After all, Tony's character was never really any big mystery at
all.
We'll see if I am even remotely close or not.

Bedoons of Kuwait. This video is in Arabic, so I realize not everyone who reads this will understand it. But just watching the video will give
you an idea of how the Bedoon in Kuwait has to live. How when they have children what they have to bring them into, and how
having children doesn't come with the same hopes and dreams we all have when we have children. Unfortunately,
Kuwait is a very tiny country and the rest of the world has very little, if any knowledge of what a Kuwaiti Bedoon is. Fortunately, Kuwait is one of the richest countries in the world. Which makes this tragedy even more of a shame. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QaqyGL2hqm4
